Norman Palmer

The year 2008 marks the 20th anniversary of Bumper To Bumperô, The Complete Guide to Tractor-Trailer Operations, the textbook that Mike Byrnes & Assoc., Inc. first published in 1988, now in its fourth edition. To mark that anniversary, we want to recognize the people who use that book on a daily basis: the instructors of the finest truck driving programs around.

Our Instructor of the Month for October, 2008, Norman R. Palmer teaches for Road Pro in Front Royal, Virginia. He began his teaching career eight years ago; he met the school's president at a job fair. Before that he had a long career as a driver, having begun at the age of 15 with a milk route. In his spare time, Norman likes to read, exercise and hike in the scenic Shenandoah Valley.
